Privacy and cookie policy

Notice given under Articles 13 and 14 of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR) and Legislative Decree 196/2003, and in line with the Italian Data Protection Authority’s Guidelines on cookies and other tracking tools (10 June 2021).

Data controller

Municipality of Polcenigo – Department for the Environment. The contact details of the Controller and of the Data Protection Officer (DPO) are published on the official website polcenigo.org. The site is created and managed by Divulgando Srl.

What data we process

  • No cookies. The site uses no profiling, advertising or tracking cookies and requires no registration.
  • Anonymous visit statistics, without cookies. To understand which contents are most useful, each page view sends our server only: the page, the language, the type of device (smartphone, tablet or computer), date and time and, on the first access, the name of the site you came from (e.g. google.com). Downloads and started videos and audio are also counted. We do not record your IP address, identifiers, device fingerprints or browser data, we store nothing on your device and we do not combine the data with other sources: the information cannot identify you or recognise later visits. The system runs on this site and no data is passed to third parties. If your browser sends a “Do Not Track” or “Global Privacy Control” signal, nothing is sent. Aggregated data is kept for 25 months.
  • Browsing data: like every website, the server hosting the pages temporarily logs technical data (IP address, date and time, page requested) to ensure the operation and security of the service.
  • Browser local storage (technical tools): the site saves on your device, without sending them to anyone, only a few preferences: accessibility settings, chosen base map, school quiz results, acknowledgement of this notice. They are necessary for the service and do not require consent.
  • Third-party content: maps load images (“tiles”) from external providers – Esri/ArcGIS, OpenTopoMap, OpenStreetMap, Waymarked Trails, ISPRA – which receive your IP address in order to send them. These services do not set profiling cookies through the site; for their processing please refer to their own notices.

Purposes and legal basis

Data are processed solely to provide the requested service and for site security, in the performance of a task in the public interest of promoting geological heritage (Art. 6.1.e GDPR) and for the legitimate interest in security (Art. 6.1.f).

Data retention

Browsing data are kept only as long as strictly necessary and deleted according to the hosting provider’s policies. Local preferences stay on your device until you delete them.

Your rights

You may at any time exercise the rights under Articles 15–22 GDPR (access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection) by writing to the Controller, and lodge a complaint with the Italian Data Protection Authority (Garante).

Manage saved preferences

You can immediately delete all preferences the site has saved on this device.
